Who We Are

Clear Sight Construction is a family-owned Residential General Contractor serving the Rogue Valley from Grants Pass to Ashland. We build new decks, repair failing structures, replace old boards, and fix dry rot tied to weather exposure or poor flashing.
With 25+ years of hands-on experience, an active Oregon CCB license (#242156), and a small-to-mid job focus, we help homeowners rebuild safe, long-lasting outdoor spaces without the upselling or runaround.

How a New or Rebuilt Deck Helps You

1. A safer, stronger outdoor space

Loose railings, soft joists, and rotten ledger boards are more than a nuisance — they’re a safety risk. We correct the structure first so everything above it lasts.

2. More usable living space

A well-built deck extends your home, giving you room to gather, BBQ, relax, and enjoy long Southern Oregon evenings.

3. Less maintenance, more durability

Composite boards, proper flashing, and correct waterproofing mean fewer repairs and better performance in Rogue Valley weather.

What’s Included in Our Deck Services

New Deck Construction

Custom layouts, platforms, stairs, and railings — built to meet code, shed water correctly, and fit your home’s style.

Deck Repair & Structural Fixes

We replace rotten joists, failing posts, unsafe railings, and soft ledger areas. Safety and structure always come first.

Composite Decking Installation

Low-maintenance, long-lasting materials that handle heat and moisture. Ideal for Rogue Valley summers.

Cedar & Wood Decking

A natural look with thoughtful sealing and detailing. We install and repair cedar boards, trim, and framing.

Deck Resurfacing (Re-Decking)

If the framing is still sound, we can replace the boards, rails, and steps without a full rebuild — a cost-effective option.

Ledger Flashing & Waterproofing

Most deck rot starts where the deck meets the house. We install flashing correctly to prevent leaks and protect the home’s envelope.

Let’s look at your deck, talk through the options, and give you two clear paths — repair or rebuild.

Why Choose Us for Deck Building & Repair

Conversation-First Planning

We walk the deck together, explain where the structure is sound (or not), and offer straightforward repair and replacement options.

Structure-First Craftsmanship

A beautiful deck means nothing if the framing, flashing, or ledger connections are failing. We start with the bones, then build the finish.

Friendly to Small & Mid-Size Projects

From fixing a few rotten boards to full composite rebuilds, we take on the projects bigger companies often pass on.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my deck needs repair or replacement?

If your deck has soft boards, wobbly railings, or bouncy spots, we check the structure beneath. Sometimes the framing is still solid, and a resurfacing is enough. Other times, rot in the ledger or joists means a rebuild is safer.

Yes — rot repair is one of our core strengths. We remove affected material, rebuild with sound framing, and flash everything correctly so it doesn’t return.

Composite decking is low maintenance and handles heat well. Cedar looks great but needs more upkeep. We’ll show you both options and what fits your budget and lifestyle.

Often, yes. If the structure is stable, we can replace damaged sections, railings, or boards without rebuilding the whole deck.

Small repairs may take a day. Full builds typically take 3–7 days depending on size, materials, and structural fixes.
